Todd here. So Preston is still only 2 but it's never too early to start a good tradition. We had our first ever father/son outing a couple of weeks ago. We camped on the beach at San Onofre with about 100 or so other fathers and sons from the Del Mar stake. Preston was pretty stoked on his head lamp and thought it was cool camping on the sand.
(it's official - me and Pres kicking back in our tent)
He slept pretty good but was mesmerized by the sounds of the ocean and the train that ran by throughout the night. "Dad-da, what that sound?". Every time I thought he was asleep a train would go by and he'd jump "train Dad-da, trainnnn!" We got some In-n-Out burgers on the way up so dinner was taken care of Friday night (plus he crashed out before we made it to the group campfire, so no hot dogs) and then we had some tasty donuts and bananas for breakfast.
Highlights: Some serious daddy/preston bonding. Waking up to sound of surf.
Not-so-highlights: Waking up to aroma of a poopy diaper in a zipped up tent...
