Hanna Art Show

I love our preschool! Those of you who have ever talked to me about our preschool Hanna Fenichal know how much our family LOVES it. Besides being right next to the beach and the children being able to go there to study every aspect of it, the teachers are amazing, the family's are very involved and supportive, it is a small setting and the daily activities are educational but exciting for the kids. But mainly I love it so much because the kids LOVE it. Sydney still asks to go back!

One of the best things the classes do each year is to study on artist for the whole year and in April they have an "Art Show" in the evening. Everyone comes all dressed up and we have "fancy" food and drinks and view the children's renditions of their artists work. It is so exciting for the kids and they are so proud of the work they did that we as parents just melt. It also gets the parents ready to spend some big buck at the Spring Fling school fundraiser that just happens to be the following weekend. You can see Preston's and Bella's individual art projects.  Preston's class did the large painting in the first picture above. Preston's class studied Monet and Bella's class artist was Dr Seuss.

We tried really hard to buy Preston's class art project during the live auction because we loved it so much but when the bidding was up to almost $2,000 we had to step back. Our table was going crazy, cheering for Todd as he and another dad went back and forth with the bids going higher and higher. Friends at our table were even throwing in money of their own to keep him bidding (what good friends, ha ha!) but in the end we just couldn't keep going. It ended up going to the family who was bidding against us for $2,500! I think they would have gone as high as they had to to get the piece. It was pretty funny!

We will have to be happy with our money in the bank and Preston's individual work :). I think we will survive!

Feeling Good!

After having three children in 4 years I realized I was really out of shape. My idea of "back to normal" had also changed after each baby. So about 5 months ago I took control and with the help of a professional I found out how off track I had really gone. Under the guidance of the most AMAZING women who is a certified trainer and dietitian I have lost 16 pound and 18 inches, which might not sound like a lot to those who watch "The Biggest Loser", but I'm only 5 feet 2 inches tall and had 20-25 pounds to lose. I'm not saying the work is over I still have a ways to go yet but I have come a long way.

What has made me blog today is not the weight lose but how healthy and strong I feel. I was on the biggest high last week when I ran 7.5 miles without stopping. I did it in just a little over an hour and I felt sooo great. Understand that in December I could not even run 1 mile straight! Running has not been my focus during this period but I decided to give it a try because I had a mental block with regards to long distance running. For the first time in 6 years have confidence in my body and in it's strength. I have had the confidence to try new classes at the gym and I entered my first race this May. I'll keep you posted on how that goes!

3 Piggie Opera

Sydney was so excited to be in her first kindergarden class performance. They performed the "3 Piggie Opera". Sydney took it very seriously and did just great. I hope the video posts then you can hear her also.
